Best AI Podcast Tools in 2027: Editing, Notes, Clips, Transcripts

By Kris Reid ·

The best AI podcast tools in 2027, for a real estate agent, are one editor or recorder with AI built in (Descript or Riverside), a general assistant for the writing (Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT), and at most one specialist for show notes, transcripts or clips. Start with what your editor already does, add tools only for missing jobs, and have a human check every episode.

Many “best AI podcast tools” lists ranking today are published by one of the tools on the list, and several were last updated in 2023 or 2024. This one is grouped by the job you need done, each price was checked on the vendor’s own pricing page on October 14, 2026, and anything we couldn’t confirm there is left out. It’s written for agents who record interviews to build referral relationships, not for full-time podcast networks.

What are the best AI podcast tools in 2027?

The best AI podcast tools depend on the job, and several jobs are already covered by the editor you record or cut in. The table gives the short answer; the sections below explain each pick and link to a full comparison.

Job Start with Specialist options Price as listed, October 2026
Editing and audio cleanup Descript or Riverside Adobe Podcast Enhance Speech, Auphonic Descript Hobbyist $24 monthly; Riverside Pro $29 monthly; Adobe Enhance Speech described as free; Auphonic free for 2 hrs/mo
Transcripts Your editor’s built-in transcript Sonix, Rev, OpenAI API Sonix $10/hr pay as you go; Rev human $1.99/min
Show notes and episode copy Your editor, or a general assistant Castmagic, Podsqueeze Castmagic Hobby $29 monthly; Podsqueeze Starter $8.99/mo
Short clips Riverside Magic Clips or Descript OpusClip, Klap OpusClip Starter $15 monthly; Klap Basic $14/mo billed yearly
Research and interview prep Gemini Notebook, Claude ChatGPT Gemini Notebook in Google’s free plan; Claude Pro $20 monthly
AI voices Usually skip ElevenLabs, Descript AI Speech ElevenLabs Creator $22/mo

Prices are the monthly-billing rate unless noted; most tools charge less on annual billing. Picking your recording software and hosting for a brand-new show is a separate decision, so it isn’t covered here.

Which AI tools edit and clean up podcast audio?

The AI editing tools that save agents the most time are Descript and Riverside, because they cut filler words, silences and retakes from the transcript instead of a waveform. For audio that just needs to sound better, Adobe Podcast’s Enhance Speech and Auphonic fix noise and levels without editing anything.

Descript. You edit the episode by editing its transcript. Descript’s pricing page lists Studio Sound (noise removal and speech enhancement), Remove Filler Words, Edit for Clarity, Remove Retakes and Eye Contact. The free plan includes 60 media minutes a month and limited AI use. Hobbyist is $24 monthly or $16 a month billed annually, with 10 media hours and 400 AI credits a month; Creator is $35 monthly or $24 annually, with 30 media hours.

Riverside. A remote recording studio with an editor attached. Riverside’s pricing lists an AI editing and repurposing agent, filler-word and silence removal, audio enhancement and unlimited transcriptions on Pro, at $29 monthly or $24 a month billed annually. The free plan records at up to 720p with a watermark.

Adobe Podcast Enhance Speech. Adobe describes Enhance Speech as a “free AI filter for cleaning up spoken audio.” It’s the quickest fix for a guest who joined from a noisy kitchen. We couldn’t load Adobe’s plan details, so check the current limits on its site.

Auphonic. Automatic leveling, noise and reverb reduction, and filler and silence cutting. Auphonic’s pricing lists 2 hours of processed audio free each month, with an Auphonic jingle on free productions. Paid credits start with Auphonic S, 9 hours a month, at $13 monthly or $11 a month billed yearly; speech recognition and automatic shownotes are paid features.

Which AI tools write show notes and episode copy?

The AI tools that write the best show notes work from a corrected transcript and a fixed template you supply. Descript and Riverside both draft show notes; Castmagic and Podsqueeze add more formats per episode.

Castmagic turns each upload into show notes, quotes, newsletters and social posts; Hobby is $29 monthly or $19 a month billed annually, with 30 transcribed hours as a library total. Podsqueeze bundles show notes, titles, transcripts and a few clips; Starter is listed at $8.99 a month for 120 minutes of audio, and Pro at $49 for 320 minutes. A general assistant with a good prompt does the same job for the price of a subscription you may already have.

Our guide to AI podcast show notes has a copy-paste prompt, the errors AI makes in real estate notes and a pre-publish checklist.

Which AI transcription tools are best for podcasts?

The best AI transcription tool for most agents is the one inside their editor, because that transcript is already synced to the edit. A standalone tool earns its place for volume, Spanish-language episodes or near-perfect human accuracy.

The quick version, at October 2026 prices: Sonix charges $10 an hour pay as you go or $25 a month for 5 hours; Rev’s free plan covers 45 AI minutes a month in English, and its human transcription is $1.99 a minute with 99%+ accuracy guaranteed; OpenAI’s API lists its gpt-transcribe model at an estimated $0.0045 a minute for anyone technical. Otter.ai is built for meetings, and its free plan’s 30-minute and 3-file limits rule it out for a weekly show.

Apple Podcasts also creates transcripts automatically after you publish, according to Apple’s transcript guidance, but they only appear in Apple’s app. Our full podcast transcription software comparison includes a monthly cost example and a 5-minute accuracy test you can run on your own episode, and our guide on whether podcast transcripts help SEO covers what to do with the file.

Which AI tools turn episodes into clips?

The AI tools that turn episodes into short clips find a complete thought, reframe it vertically and add captions. If you record in Riverside, its Magic Clips feature is included even on the free plan; Descript’s Create Clips works inside your edit.

For higher volume, OpusClip lists a free plan with 60 credits a month (watermarked, no editing, clips exportable for 3 days), Starter at $15 a month and Pro at $29 monthly or $14.50 a month billed annually. Klap prices by clips generated, from $14 a month billed yearly for 100 clips.

All of them score moments on predicted engagement, not on accuracy or compliance. Our comparison of AI clip makers for podcasts covers how to brief them and what they miss on a real estate interview.

Should agents use AI voices or AI-generated episodes?

Agents should keep AI voices and fully AI-generated episodes for private use, such as studying a market report, and keep their published show human. The platform rules and the listener data both point the same way.

Apple’s content guidelines (section 1.11) require creators who use “synthetic voices, AI-generated hosts or on-screen personas, or AI-synthesized replicas of real individuals” to prominently disclose it in the content and metadata of each episode and show. On the listener side, Edison Research’s Podcast Consumer 2026 found only 25% of U.S. weekly podcast consumers approved of a podcast hosted by an AI-generated voice in Q1 2026, and 62% called AI a threat to podcasts’ credibility.

ElevenLabs is the best-known voice platform, with a free plan of 10,000 credits a month and Creator at $22 a month for professional voice cloning. Our article on AI-generated podcasts and NotebookLM covers what these tools do, the Apple, Spotify and YouTube rules, and where synthetic audio genuinely helps an agent.

Which AI tools help you prepare for an interview?

AI tools help most before you hit record: researching a guest, summarizing long documents and drafting questions. That’s also where listeners are most comfortable with AI. In Edison’s Q1 2026 data, 69% of weekly podcast consumers approved of AI for research and 69% for brainstorming.

Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM). Upload a guest’s website, book or past interviews and ask questions grounded in those sources, or generate an Audio Overview to listen to on the way to a showing. Google’s help page warns that Audio Overviews “may contain inaccuracies,” so treat them as a starting point. Google’s plan page lists Gemini Notebook in the free plan.

Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT. Good for interview questions, episode outlines and title options. Claude’s pricing lists a free plan and Pro at $20 monthly or $17 a month on annual billing. Our ChatGPT prompts for real estate agents work in any of the three, including prompts for turning an interview into content.

What free AI podcast tools are worth using?

Free AI podcast tools cover most of the workflow as of October 2026, with limits. These are the free tiers listed on each vendor’s own site:

  • Descript Free: 60 media minutes a month, limited AI tools (filler-word removal, Studio Sound, clips, show notes drafts), 720p export with a watermark
  • Riverside Free: a 2-hour multitrack trial, unlimited single-track recording, Magic Clips, 720p with a watermark
  • Adobe Podcast Enhance Speech: described by Adobe as a free AI filter for spoken audio
  • Auphonic Free: 2 hours of processed audio a month, with a jingle added
  • OpusClip Free: 60 credits a month, watermark, no editing, 3-day export window
  • Rev Free: 45 AI transcription minutes a month, English only
  • Gemini Notebook: included in Google’s free plan (paid Google AI plans list more Audio Overviews)
  • Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT: free tiers for writing and research

Free plans suit a trial month. Once you publish weekly, watermarks and caps usually push you to one paid editor.

What does AI still get wrong on a real estate show?

AI still gets the specific, local and regulated parts of a real estate show wrong: people’s names, street addresses, numbers, neighborhood descriptions and your brokerage details. Those are exactly the parts a buyer, seller or broker reads closely.

Names and places. Transcripts and captions spell guests, lenders, subdivisions and streets phonetically. Apple even advises creators to put host and guest names in episode descriptions so its transcripts spell them correctly.

Property addresses and client details. A guest mentioning a seller’s situation or a specific address can end up in show notes, captions and clips automatically. Decide before the edit what stays private, and remove it everywhere, not just from the audio.

Numbers that age. Rates, prices and days-on-market figures are true on recording day. AI summaries and clips strip the date. Add it, or cut the number.

Fair Housing wording. The Fair Housing Act makes it unlawful to publish a statement about the sale or rental of a dwelling that “indicates any preference, limitation, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin” (42 U.S.C. § 3604(c)). A guest’s offhand comment about who an area suits becomes a published statement once AI turns it into a caption, a clip or a show notes summary. Check with your broker on how podcast content is reviewed at your firm.

Brokerage name and disclosures. AI clippers trim intros and outros, and AI show notes drop or abbreviate brokerage names. Put the required line in your templates so it survives.

Context in clips. A clip that cuts a guest’s caveat can reverse their meaning. Apple’s guidelines (section 1.12) bar using AI to “manipulate audio or video clips to present false narratives.”

What should a human review before an AI-assisted episode goes live?

A human should review every name, number and published statement that AI touched, in the transcript, the show notes and each clip. Plan on 15 to 30 minutes per episode.

  • Transcript: guest, company, street and subdivision names corrected before anything else is generated
  • Audio edit: AI cuts didn’t remove a caveat, a disclosure or the guest’s key point
  • Numbers: every rate, price and statistic heard in the episode, dated if it can go stale
  • Client privacy: no seller or buyer details, addresses or financial situations you didn’t intend to publish
  • Fair Housing: neighborhoods described by homes, amenities, commute and prices only
  • Brokerage: your firm’s name and any required disclosure in the episode, show notes and clip templates
  • Show notes: no invented resources, links or claims; title phrased as a real search
  • Clips: captions spelled correctly, the right speaker on screen, context intact
  • AI voices: none used, or disclosed as Apple requires
  • Guest sign-off: send the guest the final links so they can share them

How do you build an AI podcast stack without paying twice?

Build an AI podcast stack by choosing one home for your audio first, then filling only the gaps it leaves. Most overlap comes from paying a show notes tool and a clip tool for jobs the editor already does.

Before you add any paid tool, check your brokerage. Many offices already license AI assistants or video tools, and our guide to the best AI tools for real estate agents covers the AI you may already have in your CRM and office suite.

When does a producer make more sense than more AI tools?

A producer makes more sense than more AI tools when the bottleneck is no longer editing time but everything around it: finding guests, keeping a schedule and reviewing every output. AI shortens each task; it doesn’t take any of them off your calendar.

If you’re starting from nothing, the Icons LaunchPad is a one-time launch package from $497, before any ongoing production. Once the show is running, Icons’ ongoing production books your guests, then edits and publishes each episode with promo clips and an SEO-optimized article, so the part left for you is the conversation. Frequently asked questions

Do AI podcast tools work for video podcasts?

Yes. Descript and Riverside edit video by editing the transcript, and clip tools like OpusClip and Riverside Magic Clips reframe video into vertical clips. Check the export resolution on your plan: Riverside's free plan records at up to 720p with a watermark, and Descript's Hobbyist plan exports at 1080p.

Can AI make a whole podcast for me?

Tools like Gemini Notebook and ElevenLabs can generate a full episode from documents or a script. Apple requires prominent disclosure of AI-generated voices, and listeners are wary: only 25% approved of AI-voiced hosts in Edison's Q1 2026 data. For an agent, a synthetic show can't build the relationships a podcast is for.

Is ChatGPT good for podcasting?

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are good at the writing around an episode: outlines, guest research, interview questions, titles and show notes drafted from a transcript. They don't edit audio or video. Feed them your own transcript and facts, and check every name and number they return.

How much should an agent spend on AI podcast tools?

As of October 2026, one editor or recorder with AI built in runs about $24 to $35 a month on monthly billing, and a general assistant about $20. Most solo agents need nothing beyond that pair. Add a specialist tool only for a job they can't do.
