Podcast Sponsorship Packages: Tiers, Pricing and a Template
By Kris Reid ·
Podcast sponsorship packages bundle ad reads, placements and extras into fixed tiers a sponsor can buy without negotiating. For a real estate podcast, three tiers cover most deals: a presenting sponsor, an episode or segment sponsor, and a local partner. Price bigger shows from CPM (downloads divided by 1,000, times the rate) and small local shows at a flat monthly fee.
Most package guides hand you a CPM table and stop. That works for a show with 20,000 downloads an episode. An agent’s podcast usually has a few hundred (see our average podcast listeners per episode benchmarks), concentrated in one market, and the sponsors are local businesses comparing you with a newsletter ad or a mailer. The tiers and template below are built for that situation, with every price clearly marked as illustrative.
What goes into a podcast sponsorship package?
A podcast sponsorship package is a list of deliverables, a term and a price. The deliverables are the ad reads themselves plus the extras that make a small show worth more than its download count. Use this menu to build each tier.
| Component | Options | Notes for a real estate show |
|---|---|---|
| Read type | Host read, baked in; host read or produced ad, inserted dynamically | Baked-in reads stay in the episode for good; dynamic ads can be swapped later |
| Position | Pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll | Treat mid-roll as your premium slot |
| Length | 15, 30 or 60 seconds | 30 seconds suits most local offers |
| Frequency | Every episode, alternate episodes, one segment a month | Sell a minimum run, not single spots |
| Episode page | Logo, link and one line of copy | Local sponsors value the link from a local site |
| Newsletter and social | Mention in your email, tag in an episode clip | Check your broker’s rules for co-branded posts |
| Segment naming | “The [Sponsor] Market Minute” | Works for contractors, stagers and designers |
| Exclusivity | No competitor in the same category | Top tier only |
| Reporting | Airchecks, downloads, link or code redemptions | Monthly, in writing |
Host reads are worth pricing higher. Magellan AI’s Q2 2026 measurement benchmarks, covering campaigns from January to June 2026, found a 3.22% median response rate for host-read ads against 2.09% for produced ads. Those are medians across Magellan’s own clients, mostly national brands, so treat them as direction, not a promise.
What are the three sponsorship tiers for a real estate podcast?
The three tiers that fit most real estate podcasts are presenting sponsor, episode or segment sponsor, and local partner. Each one answers a different sponsor budget, so a business that can’t afford the top tier still has a yes available.
| Tier | Includes | Term | Best fit | Illustrative price for a show with about 400 downloads per episode |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Presenting sponsor | “Presented by” intro and outro, a 60-second mid-roll in every episode, logo on every episode page, monthly newsletter feature, category exclusivity | One season or 6 months | Movers, builders, home-service firms | $600 a month |
| Episode or segment sponsor | A named monthly segment or a 30-second mid-roll in each episode, logo on those episode pages | 3 months | Contractors, stagers, designers | $300 a month |
| Local partner | A 15-second pre-roll mention in each episode, link in show notes | 3 months | Restaurants, gyms, local shops | $125 a month |
The prices are illustrative only, to show the spacing between tiers. Your real numbers depend on your market and on what each sponsor pays for its other local advertising. Lenders, title companies and other settlement service providers buy from the same table at the same price as everyone else; 12 CFR 1024.14 treats a payment that “bears no reasonable relationship to the market value” of the services as possible evidence of a referral fee. Read the RESPA section of our guide on how to get podcast sponsors before you sell to one.
How do you price a sponsorship package from CPM?
Pricing from CPM means multiplying the downloads an episode earns in its first 30 days by the CPM rate and dividing by 1,000, then multiplying by the number of reads. Libsyn Ads gives the formula as Cost = Reach × CPM / 1,000 and publishes average baked-in host-read rates of $24 to $26 CPM for 60-second spots and $18 to $22 for 30-second spots (page checked October 2026). The same page’s rate table files the $18 to $22 range under dynamically inserted ads, so say which kind of read you’re pricing. Its genre table lists $30 CPM for business shows.
Here’s the math for an illustrative 8-episode run of 30-second mid-rolls at $20 CPM:
| Downloads per episode (first 30 days) | Per read | 8-episode run |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | $8 | $64 |
| 2,000 | $40 | $320 |
| 10,000 | $200 | $1,600 |
CPM pricing makes sense once your episodes reach the low thousands. Below that, the totals are too small to cover the time it takes to sell, record and report. Our pillar guide to podcast advertising rates compares the published rate cards in more detail.
How do you price a flat local package?
A flat local package is priced against what the sponsor already spends to reach the same people. Ask what a comparable local newsletter ad, community event sponsorship or direct-mail drop costs in your area, then place your tiers in that range.
Four rules keep flat pricing defensible:
- Publish one rate card and charge everyone the same price for the same package.
- Set a minimum run. Magellan’s data shows response kept building through day 30, and campaigns judged at seven days showed less than half of what they eventually delivered. Three months gives a sponsor a fair test.
- Price the extras. Episode-page links, newsletter features and exclusivity are real value. Put them in the higher tiers instead of giving them away.
- Raise prices at renewal when your downloads or local reach grow, and show the before-and-after numbers.
What does a one-page sponsorship package template look like?
A one-page sponsorship package template shows the audience, the tiers, the terms and the next step on a single sheet. Copy this into your media kit or send it on its own after a first call.
Fill every bracket with numbers you can show from a dashboard. The audience section is where our podcast media kit template for sponsors goes deeper.
What terms should every sponsorship agreement include?
Every sponsorship agreement should include the deliverables, the term, the price and payment schedule, script approval, makegoods, cancellation and disclosure. Write them down even for a friendly local business, because a dispute over a missed read is easier to settle with a page both sides signed.
- Deliverables by episode, with read length and position.
- Start date, minimum term and renewal notice.
- Price, invoice dates and late payment terms.
- Who writes the script and who approves it; our podcast ad scripts for real estate give starting drafts.
- A makegood if an episode is late or a read is cut.
- A sponsor label on every read. The FTC’s 16 CFR 255.5 requires clear disclosure of a connection listeners wouldn’t expect, and a plain “sponsored by” line covers it.
- For settlement service providers: a line confirming the fee is for advertising only, at the published rate, with nothing tied to referrals. Have your broker review it.
A package only sells again if the episodes ship on time, every time, because each missed week is a read the sponsor paid for and didn’t get. If keeping that schedule is the hard part, look at a podcast production team that handles editing, publishing and promo clips for each sponsored episode before you sign your first presenting sponsor.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for a podcast sponsorship?
Multiply average downloads per episode in the first 30 days by a CPM rate and divide by 1,000 for each read. Libsyn Ads publishes $18 to $26 CPM for host reads. If that gives a tiny number, as it does for most local shows, charge a flat monthly fee in line with the sponsor's other local advertising.
Should I offer category exclusivity?
Offer it in the top tier only. Exclusivity means no competing business in the same category, such as a second mover, appears during the term. Sponsors value it, so it belongs in the presenting package at a higher price, not as a free extra.
What are podcast sponsorship examples for a real estate show?
Common ones are a moving company presenting a season, a contractor sponsoring a monthly renovation segment, and a local restaurant buying a mid-roll in each episode. Each takes a different tier. Lenders and title companies can sponsor too, but only at the same market rate as everyone else, with nothing tied to referrals.
