Best Mortgage Podcasts for Loan Officers in 2027

By Kris Reid ·

The best mortgage podcasts for loan officers in 2027 are shows that still publish: Chrisman Commentary and HousingWire Daily for news, Loan Officer Freedom and Loan Officer Leadership for sales, Power House for leadership, Mortgage Marketing Radio for marketing and Consumer Finance Monitor for compliance. All 15 shows below released an episode in the 90 days before October 15, 2026.

Many “best mortgage podcasts” lists online are years old, and some of their picks have stopped publishing. This list has one rule: a show is in only if its latest episode is within 90 days of the check date. The last section covers the other side: guesting on real estate agents’ shows to build referrals.

How did we pick these mortgage podcasts?

These mortgage podcasts were picked by searching Podcast Index and Apple Podcasts on October 15, 2026, for mortgage, loan officer, lending and mortgage marketing shows, then confirming each show’s host and latest episode date on its Apple Podcasts page or RSS feed.

The filters were simple:

  1. Active. A new episode dated within 90 days of October 15, 2026. In practice, every show here published between October 1 and October 14.
  2. Built for mortgage professionals. Shows aimed mainly at homebuyers were left out, even good ones, because they’re written for your clients, not for you.
  3. U.S. market. UK, Canadian and Australian broker shows were left out because the rules and products differ.
  4. No paid placement. No show paid to be listed, and there are no download counts or rankings here, because none of these shows publish audited numbers. The order within each group isn’t a ranking.

One caution: many hosts run coaching businesses, and the show is their marketing. Expect a pitch at the end of most episodes.

If you want context on why the 90-day rule matters, our piece on how many podcasts are still active shows how few of the millions of listed feeds are still publishing.

Which podcasts cover mortgage industry news?

The best mortgage industry news podcasts are short, frequent and built around rates, secondary markets and regulation. Pick one daily show and one weekly roundup.

Chrisman Commentary

Chrisman Commentary is a daily mortgage news podcast hosted by Robbie Chrisman. Episodes cover market trends, capital markets and regulatory changes, usually with a short guest interview from a lender or vendor. Listen if you want to walk into the office already knowing why rates moved overnight. Latest episode: October 14, 2026.

HousingWire Daily

HousingWire Daily has HousingWire editor in chief Sarah Wheeler talking with industry voices about the day’s top mortgage and real estate stories. It covers brokerage news as well as lending, which helps you understand what your agent partners are dealing with. Latest episode: October 14, 2026.

Lykken on Lending

Lykken on Lending is a weekly hour hosted by David Lykken and co-hosted by Marc Helm. Regular segments cover an MBA update, macro and market updates, originations, legislation and technology, followed by one hot topic. It’s the most efficient way to catch up on a week in one sitting. Latest episode: October 14, 2026.

Optimal Insights

Optimal Insights comes from Optimal Blue, the pricing and hedging company, with members of its hedging, data and product teams as hosts. It’s a weekly look at rate data and capital markets. Listen when borrowers ask why your rate sheet changed and you want a better answer than “the market.” Latest episode: October 13, 2026.

What are the best podcasts for loan officers who want more closings?

The best loan officer podcasts for sales are the ones that give you a script or a system you can try this week. All four below are hosted by coaches, so treat each as a sample of that coach’s method.

Loan Officer Freedom

Loan Officer Freedom is hosted by Carl White and has passed 690 episodes. The focus is building referral partnerships with real estate agents and getting more agent meetings. Recent topics include the math behind eight closings a month and AI lead generation. Latest episode: October 14, 2026.

Loan Officer Leadership

Loan Officer Leadership is hosted by Steve Kyles, who describes 24 years in the mortgage business and 10 years coaching loan officers. Each episode aims to hand you one framework, script or conversation you can run the next morning. Latest episode: October 13, 2026.

The Loan Officer Podcast

The Loan Officer Podcast is hosted by Dustin Owen, a mortgage veteran of more than 20 years, with co-host and producer John Coleman. Interviews range across originator careers, sales, personal finance and running a business. It suits newer loan officers deciding what kind of career they want. Latest episode: October 9, 2026.

Mortgage Lending Mastery

Mortgage Lending Mastery is hosted by coach Jen Du Plessis and has run for more than 500 episodes. The emphasis is on consistency, habits and referral strategy for mortgage and real estate professionals. Latest episode: October 8, 2026.

Which podcasts help with mortgage leadership and branch growth?

Mortgage leadership podcasts are for producing managers, branch managers and anyone building a team. These three cover strategy from the executive level down to hiring your first assistant.

Power House

Power House is HousingWire’s weekly interview show with industry executives, hosted by Zeb Lowe. Conversations cover growth strategy, operations and leadership. Latest episode: October 13, 2026.

Lending Leadership

Lending Leadership is produced by HMA Mortgage and alternates two formats. The Mortgage Pros features the company’s partners Tom Mills, Dave Holland and Robert Fillyaw on the realities of the business. The Creative Brief covers marketing processes for loan officers. Latest episode: October 14, 2026.

Loan Officer Team Training with Irene Duford

Loan Officer Team Training is hosted by Irene Duford, who brings almost three decades in the industry. Guests are originators, team members and branch managers sharing what works when you build a team around a producer. Latest episode: October 7, 2026.

What are the best mortgage marketing podcasts?

The best mortgage marketing podcasts focus on lead generation and agent partnerships rather than general social media advice. Two are classic marketing shows, and one covers the AI tools changing how lenders market and operate.

Mortgage Marketing Radio

Mortgage Marketing Radio is hosted by Geoff Zimpfer, who interviews top-producing originators, social media creators and executives. Topics include lead generation, agent partnerships and social media. Recent episodes are about building a referral base of more and better Realtors. Latest episode: October 7, 2026.

Art of Mortgage Marketing

Art of Mortgage Marketing is hosted by Doren Aldana, founder of MortgageMarketingCoach.com. The show’s angle is growing a mortgage business without cold calling or chasing agents. It publishes less often than the others, so it’s a good one to binge from the archive. Latest episode: October 7, 2026.

The Mortgage AI Podcast

The Mortgage AI Podcast is hosted by Jason Frazier for lenders, brokers, loan officers and operators who want to use AI. Episodes cover tools, implementation and honest results. Latest episode: October 1, 2026.

Is there a mortgage compliance podcast worth following?

Few active podcasts focus only on mortgage compliance, and none of the mortgage-only compliance shows we found had published in the last 90 days. The closest active option is a consumer finance law podcast.

Consumer Finance Monitor

Consumer Finance Monitor is a weekly podcast from the law firm Ballard Spahr. Its lawyers cover consumer finance regulation, enforcement and litigation. It isn’t mortgage-only, so skim the titles and pick the episodes that touch lending, the CFPB or RESPA. Latest episode: October 14, 2026.

How can a loan officer use agent podcasts to get referrals?

A loan officer can use agent podcasts by being the guest, not only the listener. Agent hosts need lenders to explain rates, down payment programs and buyer financing, and a good interview puts you in front of that agent and the agent’s audience at once.

Once an episode is live, link it from your own site as part of a wider SEO plan for mortgage brokers and loan officers.

Guesting works for referrals because the host spends 30 minutes with you before any ask, and the episode keeps working afterward. It also gives you a link and a mention online; our guide to what a podcast guest spot does for search explains the search side.

Before you pitch, run this checklist:

  • Find agent shows in your market with an episode in the last 90 days. Our SEO tricks for finding podcasts to guest on cover the search operators to use.
  • Listen to two episodes of each show so your pitch fits its format.
  • Pitch one topic the host’s audience needs, not a list of your loan products.
  • Check with compliance that your on-air content, disclosures and NMLS details meet your company’s advertising rules.
  • Don’t pay the host, sponsor the show or offer anything of value in return for the spot or future referrals without compliance sign-off.

That last point matters because RESPA Section 8 bans giving anything of value for referrals of settlement business. Sponsoring an agent’s show or splitting production costs can be fine, but the details decide it. Read our breakdown of RESPA rules for agent and lender co-marketing before money changes hands, and confirm with your compliance team.

If you’d rather not hunt for shows and send pitches yourself, you can have Icons of Real Estate book you as a guest on agent podcasts. Its free Lite plan lets you apply to one podcast yourself, and paid plans start at $87 a month for two guaranteed bookings. Frequently asked questions

What is the best daily mortgage news podcast?

Chrisman Commentary is the most consistent daily option: it published on October 13 and 14, 2026, and covers rates, capital markets and regulation in short episodes. HousingWire Daily is the alternative if you also want real estate brokerage news, since it covers both sides of the housing market.

Can a loan officer be a guest on a real estate agent's podcast?

Yes. Many agent shows interview lenders about financing, rates and buyer programs. Keep the appearance free of any payment or favor tied to referrals, and run sponsorships or shared costs past your compliance team, because RESPA Section 8 covers those arrangements.

How often is this list updated?

The list was checked on October 15, 2026, and a show stays on it only while its latest episode is within 90 days. Podcasts stop without warning, so check the latest episode date in your podcast app before you subscribe.
