Kris Reid Talks Digital Marketing Radio David Bain
Our CEO, Kris Reid, was interviewed by David Bain of Digital Marketing Radio last February 4, 2017. Kris, together with other notable digital marketing specialists, talked about David Bain’s new book “Digital Marketing in 2017.” The 19-minute talk revolves around the book’s chapter 8: “What to publish?”
Digital Marketing with David Bain
David Bain is an online businessman and has been training entrepreneurs and corporate leaders on how to use the Internet in their businesses since 2007. He also wrote the training courses “13 Pillars of Internet Marketing,” “26-Week Digital Marketing Plan,” and “4-Phases of Digital Marketing.”
David Bain came up with the concept for Digital Marketing Radio or DMR. He does weekly interviews of digital marketing experts. David and his guests talk about different online marketing subjects to teach listeners who wants to get more exposure for their online businesses.
What to Publish: Chapter 8 of “Digital Marketing in 2017”
In this interview, Kris Reid joins other digital marketing gurus Janet Fouts of Tatu Digital Media, Lexi Mills, Marcin Chirowski and Mike Mindel of Wordtracker, SEO monitor APP’s Cosmin Alexandru Negrescu, MyBlogU’s Ann Smarty, AgoraPulse’s Emeric Ernoult, and Nadya Khoja from Venggage.
The episode focused on the eighth chapter of David Bain’s new book called Digital Marketing in 2017. Kris and the rest of the experts contributed their knowledge and experiene on “What to Publish” on online business pages. Here they try answering the questions: how to structure the content and what should be in that content?
Kris shared, “Anyone that knows SEO in the slightest hears the terms whitehat and blackhat. Blackhat describes the naughty stuff that master Google disapproves of and whitehat is the squeaky stuff that doesn’t always get results.”
Every year Google gets bigger and more powerful and has way more data to back up their search results. It’s becoming that much harder to ‘game’ the system. My advice? Stop trying to ‘game’ the system and provide what Google wants. What Google wants is great user experience through superb content. Creating super high-quality content that engages with users who not only ‘up’ your rankings through an increase click-through rate and a lower bounce rate, but it will also make all of that traffic even more valuable as it will increase conversion.
He also suggested ways on how to know what to publish, “… go through Google Search Console, previously known as Google Webmaster Tools, and find the highest ranking pages and go through Google analytics to find paths that users take through your websites. Whether dropping off and not converting and focus you energy there.” He added, “Work on these pages to make them more descriptive, more engaging. Have users die to take action to become customers.”
The almost 19-minute episode of Digital Marketing Radio may be short, but it is full of exciting information and knowledge nuggets not only from Kris, but also from other digital marketing gurus. To listen to the whole interview, check out the Digital Marketing Radio with David Bain.
